We are going to be performing one of the new songs - one they wrote for primary kids. It's called "Close as a Quiet Prayer," and it talks about how Heavenly Father is always just a prayer away.
I thought, because it's a primary song, it would be neat to have some of the primary kids join us and sing the melody, with the choir backing them up and giving more depth. I thought it would bring the Spirit and sound really cool.
We'll be practicing in May and June and then performing at Ward Conference. The full schedule is below.
Here are the words to the song.
Here are some kids singing the melody. And here is the Tabernacle Choir singing the song.
Parents are welcome to join us. We'll have the Sopranos sing along with the kids (to help them with pitches and lyrics). If you can do one of the other parts, that's even better. Children are welcome to hang out in the room with us (we're usually louder than them).

All practices are right after church in the Relief Society room. We are always done by 1:00 (and usually by 12:55).
May 31 - divide kids from adults - work on parts
June 7 - put parts together
June 14 (Stake Conference, so we will practice at 1:00. PJs, regular clothes, and suits/dresses all welcome) - work on ending
June 21 (this is Father's Day, so we'll just do a quick run-through. We wouldn't - but it's only one week before we perform! So we'll be super triple quick, then out to the nachos!)
We will perform during Sacrament Meeting on June 28. That is Ward Conference.
The only thing this sheet music lacks is the breakdown of who sings when. That's on the lyrics sheet, though.
Sheet music from Sally DeFord's site (she's the one who wrote it).
